Does the phrase, “Mother Nature,” bug you as much as it does me? Who is in control anyway? God or Mother Nature?
I can’t believe I heard it again today on the news, “Mother Nature unleased her wrath again today!” They were talking about the awful tornados that tore their way across the country. Every time there is some unusual weather event someone called, “Mother Nature,” gets the blame or credit. Who is this Mother Nature anyway?
The dictionary says: Mother Nature, noun
“The personification of nature as a powerful and nurturing woman.”
Nature is everything that is not man-made according to the dictionary. Therefore, nature is God made.
Wikipedia says:
“Mother Nature is a personification of nature.”
Every time we get tornados, hurricaines, blizzards, floods, and other weather woes the news and weather media blame it all on Mother Nature. Not only that, but when we have wonderful weather and a beautiful day they say something like, “Mother Nature smiled on us today with this warm weather.” She gets the credit and the glory. So, what is the real story?
God says in Exodus 20:3, NASB “You shall have no other gods before Me.” This is one of the ten commandments, and is serious business.
God is to be praised and worshipped. Not other gods. We in our nation are getting very careless in this area. When we hear the phrase, “Mother Nature”, used over and over it becomes common. We use it without thinking of the true meaning behind it. Most of us wouldn’t intentionally praise another god.
Did you know that God is in control of the weather not Mother Nature?
The Bible has a lot to say about God and how He controls the weather.
(Psalms 78:26 NASB) He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens And by His power He directed the south wind.
(Psalms 107:25 NASB) For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, Which lifted up the waves of the sea.
(Psalms 135:7 NASB) He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
(Psalms 148:8 NASB) Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
(Proverbs 30:4 NASB) Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His son’s name? Surely you know!
(Mark 4:39 NASB) And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
God created the Heavens and the Earth and He controls the weather. So, you may ask, “Why does God allow this terrible weather to cause us all kinds of problems?” The answer is that God is Sovereign. He can do whatever He wants. He is in control and nothing gets by Him.
Have you ever stopped to think that God allows bad things to happen to our nation to get our attention? We have lost our moral footing. In our society today anything goes. The news certainly validates this. There used to be sin and shame, but it has been replaced with nothing is right or wrong.
But, God says:
(Colossians 3:5 NASB) Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
(Colossians 3:6 NASB) For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience,
“The sovereignty of God is that golden sceptre in his hand by which he will make all bow, either by his word or by his works, by his mercies or by his judgements.” Thomas Brooks
The world says, “You can’t fool Mother Nature.” I say, “You can’t fool God.” He is still there, He is in control, and He holds us in the palm of His hand. We need to cry out for mercy!

Love…… God is love! How can you explain love outside of a perfect Jesus who historically walked the earth and laid down His life because He loves you! there is no greater love than a man lay down his life for his friends”John 15:13 His love is expressed for us in His creation! The Bible is historically acurate, it is a mathematical work of perfection, over 1,500 prophecies have come true. It is impossible for man to have written God’s Word…”Thus sayeth the Lord” Hebrew is a numerical language, as is aramaic “NT” in addition to ELS Equi letter sequencing=”The Bible Code” Love is eternal……Death is separation from His love forever…Eternal Life is a free gift thru Jesus death on the cross to pay for our rebellion against Him.Sin-rebellion against God’s will, breaking one or more of His 10 commandments(I have broken them all, yes I had 2 abortions) The Georgia Guidestones were created to replace the 10 Commandments to reduce world population to 5,000,000 thru sterilization via vaccinations, promote homosexuality thru the media, destroy families, promote sex not love and contol the world thru smart meters!!!!!!! Technocracy world control and domination. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes is Him will not perish but have everlasting life! John 3:16 Jesus….I go to prepare a place for you….”His Beloved” only for those who respond to His love with a real relationship based on His word and His truth! God is not a man that He should lie!Numbers 23:19

You go Bonlou! I’m tired of hearing “mother nature.” Its God who decides the weather and circumstances of the earth even using the evil of man to accomplish what he wishes. Storms? Because of the sinfulness of man; trying to get our attention that we would turn to Him and accept His Son Jesus Christ before its too late. Sad to say, New Agers are soo deceived. They will have no place in heaven. Arrogancy not to come to God on His terms, His way and accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Pride goes before a fall. We were all that way before coming to Christ. Now it is our responsibility to pray against the powers of darkness in hopes that the Holy Spirit will draw those who believe in “Mother nature as god will meet the real God on earth before their life ends on earth and they end up without God for eternity. Worse than hell, to be eternally separated from a God who loves them will be an eternal torment all by itself. Then demons will remind them of what they could of had. Sad. To be separated from God with words from demonic powers for all time of what they could of had instead of believing the lie. Sad! “LOrd may you in Jesus name open the eyes of all New Agers before their life ends on earth; that they will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and repent of their sins. For you became the bloody sacrifice for our sakes, becoming a curse and sin for our sakes. We deserved the cross that You died on for all of mankind. Open their eyes, their ears and their hearts, that these who believe in New Age beliefs will come to know the truth of God and meet their God who is Lord of all and over all events and activities on earth. Please Lord bring them out For your Glory and their help. Amen!

Do you realize we are in a “religious war”? And actually we’ve been at it for a thousand years. Did your God tell man to oppress, kill or convert others to your belief. Where is that written? It is in the Koran. But in the Bible? Because Christians have had a lot of wars. Let’s see… how many religious wars have we had? So many I can’t even count them. Roman Expansion, the Crusades, The Inquisition, WWII, just to name a few. If your All Mighty God is so powerful why hasn’t he defeated their All Mighty God? Better give this one a lot of thought. Now it is possible that they are the same but wait, that would really upset the cart wouldn’t it? After all the Muslims, Christians, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, and every other religion has their own God (some have the same but are to intelligent to see it) and making him/here the same one would sure end a lot of needless killings and suffering wouldn’t it? And that’s not the way of man is it? Man destroys what Mother Nature builds. Oh sorry that ugly name again. So how many Gods are there? Wow…more than one. But you say only yours is the one… and so do all the the others with a few exceptions. Well, only one of you can be right? So while you and the others are fighting it out like children fighting over a toy, many of us accept life for what it is. We enjoy the beauty of it as it is in reality and angst over the the destruction of life religion has caused on this planet. Yes you… your followers, and all those wackos who believe so strongly that you are doing more damage to Earth, Nature, the environment, and killing humans in a ridiculous war all over a belief in a “God or Gods” who exist only because of what was written on parchment a thousand plus years ago. When “spirits” controlled the world, and you got warts from frogs, witches rode broomsticks, water turned to blood, And the Earth was Flat! Oh heaven help us! Don’t so….

The idea of Mother Nature as a God-equivalent is quite appealing for several reasons. Such notions come closer to objective reality and science than old-time fundamentalist religions do. A non-judgmental force is more acceptable on many levels than a punishing God who would send billions of souls to suffer in an eternal torture chamber.
It is unfortunate that so many people, even in modern times, continue to interpret so-called “revealed” religious texts in a literal fashion. As a result, good folks come to believe that stories describing a six-day creation, talking snakes, witches that can communicate with the dead, etc. are supposed to be taken at face value instead of as the poetry and other literary vehicles they actually represent.
It is at least mildly encouraging that such literal fundamentalist beliefs are on a slow but steady decline in the U.S. and around the world, as increasing numbers of curious people have access to all kinds of information via the Internet, and can thus undertake an objective study of these matters – if they are so inclined. The gradual spread of science, freethought, philosophy, and so on will result in worldviews that grow closer and closer to truth and reality and away from supernatural stories and the “we’re right, you’re wrong” attitude.
However, as someone who strongly favors freedom, I should also state that I strongly support the right to believe and practice whatever religion one desires. I am a fervent supporter of religious freedom, and that includes the right of religious fundamentalists to believe in their own traditional stories.
The belief that man is inherently evil because an ancient woman once ate some fruit – on the advice of a talking snake, no less – is quite amazing. And this is supposed to be loving?
These issues, along with basic, universal spiritual principles in general, are explored further in a small blog called Search for Truth at http://www.allisnow.com/blog/
